No more queues in front of ATMsReduced transaction duration is an important issue for customer satisfaction and for efficient use of Banking channels, especially at ATMs. Every measure taken to fasten cash withdrawals, most widespread used ATM transaction, is beneficial to both customers and banks.
Today customer time is much more valuable than before and customers' expectations and demands are higher as a result. Many approaches has been already taken, such as cardless usage of ATMs, contactless card usage, authentication with bio data, fast cash buttons specific to customers etc. İşBank values innovations and SoftTech Yazılım Teknolojileri A.Ş. (SoftTech) develops software solutions for self-service terminals utilizing latest technologies, by cooperation with SoftTech, İşBank became the first bank in Turkey to put finger vein data authentication and contactless RFID card usage in service on its ATMs.
What can be done further? SoftTech has developed a new solution, "İşCep cash withdrawal" to fulfil customer demands of İşBank. "İşCep cash withdrawal" service is a fast cash withdrawal system that integrates İşBank's mobile banking platform (İşCep) running at smartphones with ATMs. System reduces transaction time spent at ATM's to 10 seconds, which is mainly consumed at ATM's stacking and presentation processes.
The idea is to use İşCep mobile channel for user authentication, transaction data collection, and then stage the transaction to complete cash withdrawal at ATM, by merely scanning a 2D QR code on ATM monitor, with the smartphone. No card entry, no PIN entry, no account selection, no amount entry is needed at the ATM. Besides reducing time spent at ATM, this system also have the advantage of eliminating the need for a card. Transaction can be staged easily at the ATM queue.
System is completely secure since the user is authenticated by what he has (smartphone) and what he knows (mobile application authentication data), no data is stored at smartphone. Data transfer is highly secure due to usage of high-end encryption algorithms.
Since the service needs no new hardware and it is independent from ATM brand or model, it has been easily released to all İşBank ATM's, approximately 5000 units. Since then it has seen quite widespread use by customers, especially who are already using İşCep mobile application, and İşBank received positive feedbacks.
