Press Release :: Commerzbank

Logo CommerzbankCommerzbank and Dresdner Bank are growing closer together. From today onwards more than 1,200 premises of both banks throughout the whole of Germany will bear the new logo. Alone in the state of Hesse more than 100 buildings will be fitted with the new logo.

"Frankfurt and Germany as a whole will become more yellow," said Martin Blessing, CEO of Commerzbank. "The new brand utilizes elements of both banks and thus creates an emotional home. For it will be familiar to all our customers and employees from the very outset."

The Fürstenhof in Frankfurt, to date the branch office of Dresdner Bank, is one of the first buildings in Germany to boast the new logo. "In the coming three weeks we will convert the branches of Dresdner Bank nationwide over to the common brand. Through to the end of August 2010 the remaining branches will follow suit. While symbols are important, there is more to all this: Whether someone is a Dresdner Bank or Commerzbank customer, they can now utilize services such as deposits, statements and transfers in all branches," said Blessing. "From now on we are sailing under one flag: All the customers of Dresdner Bank and Commerzbank have a common bank."

Together with Caroline Heigl-Labbow and Raimund Gross from the Customer Advisory Council (Kundenbeirat) of Commerzbank, Blessing revealed the new logo at the Fürstenhof. Shortly afterwards the south tower of the Commerzbank building at Kaiserplatz was also unveiled during a customers' event. So as not to disturb five nesting peregrine falcons the three-dimensional yellow ribbon on the west tower of the Frankfurt headquarters will be put in place at a later date. Peregrine falcons are threatened with extinction and as such are a protected species.

As the headquarters of the bank with over 14,000 employees the Frankfurt site is of key significance for Commerzbank. In Hesse the bank looks after more than 600,000 private clients and some 100,000 corporate clients and business customers. The private customer business in the Frankfurt region is the responsibility of Werner Braun. The corporate client segment is headed by Günter Tallner, the area of key accounts by Berthold Bonanni. Responsible for wealth management is Bernhard Zinn.
